The undergraduate degree in IR (International Relations) is designed to have a transformative effect in our students’ lives and career paths. The degree develops the skills and competencies useful for a wide range of careers and activites, such as international organizations, investment banking, non-governmental organizations, political risk consultancies, multinational corporations, media and communications businesses or applied research.
The course brings together the key concepts and methods students need to make sense of international politics and economics. Examples include international political theory, micro and macro economics, international history, geopolitics and diplomacy, conflict and humanitarian crises, global finance, international cooperation and development, negotiation techniques in multicultural contexts, policy evaluation, and applied Big Data.
From the outset, students are trained for a diverse range of global careers in the professional workplace. They acquire a repertoire of concepts, methods and techniques to offer consultancy, make qualified analyses of political and economic scenarios, manage complex international projects, write grant applications, compose op-eds for the press, produce and manage large databases, interpret statistics and draw negotiation strategies. At the end of the degree, graduates are qualified to perform these tasks with proficiency in multicultural and multilingual environments. Our role is to ensure that all graduates have the tools they need to make the best professional choices and build their own productive and creative trajectory.
National High School Exam (Enem)
In addition to applying via FGV’s University Entrance Exam (Vestibular), candidates for the Undergraduate Degree in International Relations can also apply for the selection process using their Brazilian High School Exam (ENEM) grade.
International Entry Exam
We accept marks from a range of international exams, such as SAT, Abitur, A-Levels, International Baccalaureate (IB) or Baccalauréat (Bac).
