About the program

FGV EBAPE’s undergraduate administration course is designed to train global leaders who are able to make decisions based on scientific and methodological rigor, working in the management of public and private sector organizations in a world without borders marked by digital transformation.

The course is structured into three pillars: scientific rigor, international links, and alignment with contemporary market practices.

These three pillars make FGV EBAPE’s undergraduate administration course the best one in Brazil, according to Education Ministry assessments.

Partnerships and internships

Experience at companies during the course – Administration course students benefit from a curricular structure and specialized departments that enable real experiences at prominent organizations in the public, private and third sectors. The Field Project, a mandatory part of the curriculum, engages students in real organizational situations at partner companies, starting in the third semester.

Career guidance – FGV’s Internship and Career Development Center guides students and alumni to the job market through specially developed partnerships and programs.

Unlimited international career, starting with internship – FGV EBAPE’s students and alumni can use the “Highered” platform, which features more than 10,000 internship and job opportunities in over 90 countries.

Why choose this program?

The first school to create an administration university course in Brazil and the whole of Latin America, for 68 years FGV EBAPE has had the mission of training executives who can lead and influence public and private sector organizations in Brazil and worldwide.

All our administration undergraduate students can take part in an exchange program at some of the world’s foremost business schools, such as Columbia University in the United States, ESSEC Business School in France and the Catholic University of Portugal. At the same time, through our exchange programs with partner schools, we receive students from many different countries, making EBAPE an environment of constant cultural networking.

The school’s faculty is made up of professors from Brazil and other countries who are recognized domestically and internationally in their fields of activity. They have master’s and doctorates from leading universities in Brazil and across the world, and they stand out, among other reasons, for their academic activity and publications in renowned journals.

As well as its undergraduate course, FGV EBAPE offers master’s and doctorates in administration, which have been awarded the top score by the Brazilian Education Ministry’s graduate education support agency, CAPES.

International programs

IBEA

International Accreditations

FGV EBAPE is recognized as one of the world’s best business schools.

Since 2014, FGV EBAPE has had EQUIS accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).

In 2018, the school was accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

FGV EBAPE’s Professional Master’s in Public Administration (MAP) is also accredited by the International Commission on Accreditation of Public Administration Education (ICAPA).

Multidisciplinary Education

FGV EBAPE’s students are trained to work in different sectors, through theoretical and practical classes that provide knowledge of public and business administration, expanding their opportunities in the job market.

Globalized course

FGV EBAPE’s students can take part in a global program in which students from three prominent international business schools also participate: the University of Mannheim Business School in Germany, the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business in the United States, and the ESSEC Business School in France and Singapore. This program, called the International Business Education Alliance (IBEA), trains a class of 40 international students, who spend six months in each of the aforementioned countries.

Internationalization

FGV EBAPE seeks to provide its students with the opportunity to spend at least one semester at one of its partner schools. At the beginning of the program, students are prepared to participate in an exchange program. English proficiency is fundamental for undergraduate students. There are several reasons for this requirement:

As of the second year of the undergraduate administration course, all Marketing component classes are taught in English, and from the third year to the end of the course, all components are delivered in English.

In the program’s third year, there is a mandatory curriculum component called Multicultural Experience, which encompasses an international exchange program as a central part of the course curriculum. All students are expected to study abroad at one of FGV EBAPE’s international partners.

In the last year of the course, students are encouraged to start an internship to boost the development of their international career at global organizations. The eighth semester does not have any classes, and instead it is completely dedicated to internships. Thus, the undergraduate curriculum favors students’ mobility and their international professional experiences.

Undergraduate students have three special international programs to choose from, to further their global careers: the IBEA program, the double degree program with ESSEC Business School, and the double degree program with ESCP Europe.

These programs enrich students’ education and reinforce the school’s global position of excellence in administration teaching and research.

Organizational Experience / Field Project

In 2015, EBAPE’s undergraduate administration course launched the Field Project, whose central goal is to provide third and fourth-semester students with their first professional experience at a public, private or nongovernmental organization.

Over the years, the Field Project evolved from a complementary activity to a mandatory component of the course curriculum, and it was renamed Organizational Experience. The project’s essence remains the same, as an activity aimed at fourth-semester students, providing them with their first experience in an organizational environment. Students are immersed for a given period in an organization, facing real challenges and working to solve a managerial issue.

By going through the Organizational Experience, students have the opportunity to apply the theoretical framework learned in different subjects, combining theory and practice while tackling real situations, helping them to develop a series of skills vital to their work as managers.
